On October 16, the 29th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (29th MIF) and Macao Franchise Expo 2024 (2024MFE) kicked off simultaneously in Macao. Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and other distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony

Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and its member enterprises, including Vice President Tan Jingchi, Secretary-General Yang Caixi, Director Liu Chunhui, and members Zhu Dongsheng, Liao Diqing and Cao Danzhu, traveled to Macao to participate in the event.

Combined, the two fairs covered a total exhibition area of 38,000 square meters, marking their largest scale in recent years. Boasting 10 exhibition zones on-site, they attracted renowned enterprises from 16 countries and regions to take part in the exhibition. Notably, more than 50 cooperation agreements were signed on the opening day of the fairs. At the event, Tan Jingchi, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Jiangmen Tengxin Motorcycle Technology Co., Ltd., signed a successful contract with a Macao-funded enterprise. Going forward, the two parties will join forces to build the Macao-featured “Ao Long” motorcycle brand and expand the product sales to nine Portuguese-speaking countries and the ten ASEAN member states.

It is reported that over 80 economic and trade activities were arranged during the four-day exhibition period. Taking a diverse range of forms including conferences and forums, thematic matching talks, promotion and exchange sessions, new product launches, the “One Exhibition, Two Venues” initiative and community tours, these events focused on key industries such as big health, modern finance, high and new technologies, as well as exhibition and trade services. The event venues extended from the exhibition hall to local communities and further to the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, expanding the radiation effect of the exhibition and deepening the coordinated development of Macao and Hengqin.
